Each year, the opening date for The Emily Contest is September 1st at 1:00 AM (Central Time),
and the closing date is October 2nd at 11:59 pm (Central Time)
No Late entries accepted.

Starting In 2024, to Receive the Member Discount You Must be a Member on or Before June 30th of each Contest Year.

1st, 2nd, 3rd, and The Best of The Best winners will be announced at
The Emily Awards Ceremony held on the 1st Saturday in March.

Please note that The Emily Contest is a ROMANCE WRITING CONTEST (romantic fiction only)

                                                            There are two (2) basic elements that comprise every romance novel:
                                                                                         ♥     A  central love story
                                                                                         ♥    An emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending.

We welcome Diverse Romance, but we are not accepting Erotica or Erotic Romance at this time.

All Entries must consist of Original Content.
No AI GENERATED Material Accepted. If AI Use is Detected the Entry will be Disqualified
Resulting in a Forfeiture of the Entry Fee.

The Emily is an anonymous contest. All names of the entrants and judges are not disclosed. While entered in The Emily please do not place the title for your entry on any social media platforms until after The Emily Celebration held on the 1st Saturday of March.
You can post you entered the contest and ask for support as long as
Manuscript Identification Information is omitted.
Be aware any such postings could result in a disqualification of
your entry and forfeiture of the entry fee.
